Jaylen Brown’s lacerated right hand was a non-factor in the Boston Celtics’ 119-106 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Brown contributed 18 points, three steals, and two blocks to the Celtics’ dominant performance.

One highlight involved Brown rejecting Dejounte Murray’s lay-up with a powerful right-handed block. The Celtics wing checked out of the game shortly afterwards, but Joe Mazzulla clarified that this wasn’t related to his hand injury.

The Georgia native provided an optimistic injury update after Game 2.

“Hand’s doing good,” said Brown to NBC Sports Boston. “It’s getting better each and every day”.

Ironically, Brown performed better in the Game 1 of the series. The 26-year-old split his finger open but led the Celtics in points and rebounds.

Based on Brown’s progression, there are no indications the injury will impact his status for Game 3.

The next game of the Celtics-Hawks series is scheduled for Friday night at 7 pm.
