Created in 2006, the Red Auerbach Award is an annual accolade given to the Celtics player or coach who best exemplifies the spirit of what it means to be a Celtic through exceptional performance on and off the court.

This year's recipient is Jaylen Brown, who received the award ahead of Boston's 97-93 win over the Raptors on Wednesday.

"Jaylen has proved that not only can you be a great basketball player, but you can be an important role model in the Boston community and off the court," expressed Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck. "His qualities demonstrate what it means to be a part of this organization and make us stronger as a group."

After registering 25 points, matching Pascal Siakam for a game-high 11 rebounds, and dishing out five assists to help guide Boston to a win that, combined with the Bucks beating the Bulls, clinched the two seed in the East for the Celtics, Brown conveyed what winning the Red Auerbach Award means to him.

"I've put my everything into this team, I've put my everything into this city, into this organization since I've been here. To get that award, I thought (it) meant a lot."
