Gatorade has tapped Jayson Tatum as the star of the brand’s first ad campaign of the year, combining his love of gaming and basketball while showcasing their newest product, Gatorlyte, designed for rapid rehydration.

The four-time All-Star earned Gatorade Player of the Year honors in 2015 and most recently created his very own Gx Collab bottle. Much like his first signature sneaker, the Jordan Tatum 1s, this year's All-Star Game MVP designed a bottle that illustrates the story of who Jayson Tatum is.

The Celtics' franchise player and former Duke Blue Devil's Gx Collab bottle features his journey to the NBA, his son Deuce, and easter eggs, including the St Louis arch and some of his tattoos.

"Since being awarded Gatorade Player of the Year in high school and most recently collaborating on my own custom Gx bottle, working with Gatorade has always been a highlight of my career," expressed Tatum.

"Gatorade continues to be a staple before, during, and after all my workouts and games. I love that they’re always creating new products, like Gatorlyte, to help athletes at all levels perform at their best."

The ad, seen below, coincides with the start of March Madness, the height of the college basketball season. It will air over the next few months.

Gatorlyte, Gatorlyte Zero, and Gatorlyte Powder are available for retail in stores and online at Gatorade.com
