Jayson Tatum put on a show at Vivint Arena Sunday night. The four-time All-Star picked the perfect time to unveil his first signature sneaker, the Jordan Tatum 1's, scoring a record 55 points, taking home the All-Star Game MVP Award, named after the player he grew up idolizing, Kobe Bryant, and leading Team Giannis, coached by Joe Mazzulla and the Celtics' staff, to a 184-175 win.

According to ESPN research producer Matt Williams, Tatum is the first player in NBA history to score at least 50 points in a regular season, playoff, and All-Star Game.

The first starter chosen by Giannis Antetokounmpo did much of his damage in the third frame, where he established a new record with 27 third-quarter points, drilling five straight threes on a night he went 10/18 from beyond the arc.

Tatum also stuffed the stat sheet with a team-high ten rebounds, six assists, a steal, and a block.

Tatum's running mate, Jaylen Brown, the second reserve selected by LeBron James, led his team with 35 points. He also grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds, dished out five assists, and swiped two steals.

And in that third quarter where Tatum was rewriting the All-Star Game record books, he and Brown grabbed the spotlight, going one-on-one, just as they did at the NBA's star-studded exhibition contest in Atlanta two years ago.

After the game, discussing his one-on-one battle with Brown, Tatum said, "we've always brought the best out of each other."

Tatum, Brown, and the Celtics, who sit atop the NBA with a 42-17 record, return to action on Thursday. They'll be in Indiana to take on the Pacers. That game tips off at 7:30 pm EST.
