The Boston Celtics suffered a 128-102 loss in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Jayson Tatum registered a team-high 14 points in the lopsided contest.

The Miami Heat now lead the series 3-0. With Boston on the verge of elimination, head coach Joe Mazzulla may soon be in the hot seat.

Teams with high expectations to win a championship tend to make drastic changes when a banner isn’t delivered. Despite winning 45+ games during the 2022-2023 regular season, Doc Rivers, Monty Williams, and Mike Budenholzer were fired from their coaching positions.

Mazzulla doesn’t think the Celtics have given up on their championship hopes, as captured by NBC Sports Boston.

“I have the utmost confidence that we’ll compete, that we’ll play together, that we’ll be connected.”

Though no franchise in NBA history has overcome a 3-0 deficit, ESPN’s Basketball Power Index calculates the Celtics have a 31% chance to accomplish the feat.

Game 4 of the Celtics-Heat series is set for Tuesday night at 8:30 pm.
