The Celtics' 2020 second-round selection Yam Madar, 22, is coming off a breakout season for Partizan Belgrade, who played in EuroLeague for the first time in eight years. According to the EuroLeague, he averaged 5.8 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 rebounds on that stage while logging 13 minutes per contest.

The six-foot-three guard earned EuroLeague Rising Star honors. The award goes to the best player younger than 22 the previous summer. Past winners include Luka Doncic (2017-18), Ricky Rubio (2010), and Danilo Gallinari (2008).

Unfortunately for fans of Boston's NBA team hoping to see Madar stateside this summer, according to Adam Himmelsbach of the Boston Globe, he's not expected to play for the Celtics' summer league squad this year.

Himmelsbach reports the same is true for Juhann Begarin, who is also unlikely to play for the franchise in Sin City due to commitments to their European clubs.

While Madar's progress is encouraging, Begarin seems more likely and more ready to make the jump to the NBA.

The 45th pick in the 2021 draft played the last two seasons for Paris Basketball in the top league in France. He's coming off a campaign where he averaged 11.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 26.3 minutes per game, per basketball-reference. And the 20-year-old wing who swiped 1.9 steals per contest in 15 EuroCup games could prove most valuable defensively.
