LA Clippers legend Blake Griffin announced his retirement from basketball on Tuesday morning, hanging it up after 13 seasons, six All-Star appearances, and five All-NBA selections. Griffin spent time with the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics before calling it a career, making a strong impact at each stop.

Clippers star James Harden played with Griffin in Brooklyn, and when asked about his former teammate on Wednesday, Harden said, "Unbelievable career, man. We were the same high school class and draft class. Seeing somebody who I came in this league with retire after an unbelievable career, first it just shows how old I’m getting. But it's gonna have to end some day... Unbelievable career. We all know him for his athleticism, but he did some really good things off the court as well. Kudos to him."

Griffin is the most important player in Clippers franchise history, and until someone delivers the organization a championship, it will stay that way. While none of Griffin's Clippers teams were able to get over that hump, his rookie campaign kickstarted everything this franchise now enjoys, as he put one of the worst organizations in sports on the map.

One of the most exciting players in NBA history, Griffin's peak was unlike anyone in the game, and he leaves behind a strong legacy.
