The LA Clippers are facing the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, and they have made an update to their injury report. After initially being listed as available, star point guard James Harden has been downgraded to questionable for this game with right foot inflammation.

Harden was also also downgraded to questionable with a right foot injury for Sunday afternoon’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but ended up playing in that game.

It seems likely that Harden will play just one of the next two games for the Clippers, as this is a unique back-to-back set where LA faces the Suns in Phoenix on Tuesday, and again in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

A final status is for Harden will likely be revealed by Ty Lue when he addresses the media pregame. The Clippers are already without Kawhi Leonard for this game, as the star forward is missing his 5th-straight game with right knee inflammation.

The Clippers are trying to find that balance between optimizing seeding and entering the playoffs healthy. The likeliest scenario is that the Clippers will finish 4th and face the 5th seed Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs, but the team still wants to ensure that there is no late-season collapse that jeopardizes their home court advantage in the first round.

Harden has been very durable for the Clippers this season, having missed just two games since arriving in a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. If Harden is unable to play in this game, it will be just his third missed game since the trade.
