Joel Embiid's Injury Status for Philadelphia 76ers vs. LA Clippers
The LA Clippers are in Philadelphia on Wednesday night to face the 76ers, but they will not have to deal with Joel Embiid. The 76ers have released their injury report for this game, and Embiid remains out with a meniscus injury.
Embiid has been working hard towards a return, but is not quite ready yet. The 76ers certainly need him back if they want to make any noise in the postseason, but for now their goal is just reaching the playoffs.
The 76ers enter Wednesday night's game against the LA Clippers as the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference, currently tied with the Miami Heat. Just one game back in the loss column from the 6th seed Indiana Pacers, Philadelphia can certainly escape the play-in tournament, but their margin for error is slim to none.
Having defeated the Clippers in Los Angeles just two games ago, Philadelphia showed a real ability to step up in the absence of Embiid, which has been an inconsistent ability for this team since he went down. This game will of course have the James Harden dynamic, as the former 76ers guard will be playing his first game in Philadelphia since being traded to the Clippers earlier this season. It would have been fun to see Harden and Embiid face off, but the league MVP is not yet ready to return from injury.
