LA Clippers star Kawhi Leonard missed the final eight games of the regular season with right knee inflammation, and there has been no word from the team on his status for the playoffs. Asked about his star forward several times in recent days, Clippers head coach Ty Lue has refused to reveal anything of substance, continuing to say the team hopes Leonard will be available when the playoffs begin.

Perhaps the most informative update on Leonard's current injury status was revealed by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski during a recent segment of NBA Countdown.

Speaking with ESPN's Malika Andrews, Wojnarowski said, "In the past, there is always some mystery around Kawhi Leonard injuries, that sometimes they turn out to be worse than perhaps first described. I'm told that is not the case here. This is right knee inflammation on the same knee that just in the past few years he had meniscus surgery on, he had ACL surgery on, and then this season he has played 68 games - the most he has played since the 2016-17 season."

The Clippers will open their postseason on April 21st vs. the Mavericks, and as Wojnarowski added, the team will continue to treat Leonard's right knee in between now and then. While Wojnarowski did not reveal whether or not the star forward will be ready when the playoffs begin, he did say that Leonard's injury is not more severe than is currently be communicated.
