LA Clippers Announce Exciting Intuit Dome News
The LA Clippers said farewell to Crypto.com Arena on Sunday afternoon, playing their final regular season game in the building they called home for 25 seasons. The team celebrated their time in DTLA with a tribute video, Clippers alumni, special in-game entertainment, and free food for all fans in attendance.
Now set to enter the brand new Intuit Dome next season, the Clippers have spent the last several years preparing their new home to be the best and most unique venue in basketball. Steve Ballmer had several visions for his new arena, all of which were executed according to his unrivaled attention to detail, but perhaps none received more enthusiasm from Ballmer than The Wall.
A seating section on the baseline adjacent to the visitor’s bench, The Wall includes 51 uninterrupted rows that are only accessible to Chuckmark-certified Clippers fans. Unlike anything else in the NBA, The Wall is not only designed to offer an unmatched experience for the most dedicated fans, but it also projects to create a unique home court advantage.
One option fans have to experience The Wall is what the Clippers are calling the Ultimate Wall Pass. This $1,299 season pass includes one ticket for all 41 home games, access to a seat in The Wall, and several other perks that include discounted concessions, exclusive merchandise drops, early access to playoff tickets, and more.
With the Ultimate Wall Pass, the Clippers are also making good on Ballmer's promise to create affordable ticket options. At $1,299 (with no added taxes or fees), this season pass comes out to just over $30 per game, which is significantly cheaper than the average NBA ticket price. The Clippers are also offering a 10-month payment plan that can be selected at the time of purchase.
For fans that don't plan on attending games alone, up to six Ultimate Wall Passes can be purchased on one account. All passes on the same account are ensured to be sat together. For those who want to sit with pass holders not under their account, the Clippers are offering a "Sit with Friends" reservation that allows fans to reserve seating next to other pass holders. Subject to availability, guest passes may also become available for purchase on a game-by-game basis for those who only need an additional pass for one game.
If any fans are unsure about their ability to make all 41 home games, or simply want to share their pass with others, the Clippers are offering a Shareable Ultimate Wall Pass for an additional $800. This option allows a pass to be shared with up to three friends, ensuring a pass never goes unused. These seats are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so fans are encouraged to arrive early for an opportunity to sit as close as the third row.
Ballmer first teased this season pass option during a September episode of Paul George's Podcast P show, laying out his vision that has now come to fruition.
"We're working on what I would call a season pass instead of a season ticket," Ballmer said on George's show. "You buy a season ticket, you sell it if you're not going to a game. I don't like that. That's how we get all the evil other team fans in our building, and I'm so tired of that... A season pass, like a Netflix account, you can share it with three or four people, but it's gotta be those three or four people. You can't just sell it to somebody else."
This is why the Shareable Ultimate Wall Pass can only be shared with the same 1-3 people, as the Clippers are continuing to ensure that The Wall seats only the most dedicated Clippers fans.
For just over $30 per game, this is one of the most affordable seating options in the NBA, which Ballmer also foreshadowed during that Podcast P episode, saying, "We gotta sell that at a low price. That's gotta be a good-priced product."
With each new bit of information the Clippers reveal about their new home, it becomes more and more clear that Ballmer was able to execute even his loftiest of plans for this one-of-a-kind building.
