Luka Doncic's Honest Statement Before Clippers vs. Mavericks
The LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks are set to face off in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs for the third time since 2020. The Clippers defeated Dallas in the 2020 and 2021 opening round of the playoffs, and will attempt to do so for the third time.
Both teams look very different than they did the last time they faced off in the playoffs, which was essentially what Luka Doncic said when asked about the biggest difference between facing the Clippers now and facing them three years ago:
While the Mavericks of course have Kyrie Irving, the Clippers have added both both James Harden and Russell Westbrook since their last meeting with Dallas in the opening round. The added star power on both sides is far from the only changes these two rosters have undergone in the last three seasons, which makes it hard to draw much from their two previous meetings.
This should be an incredibly exciting matchup between two teams who have their sights set on making deep playoff runs. A first round exit would be a disappointment for both of these teams, which adds another element of intrigue to an already big time matchup.
Doncic has put up huge numbers in his two playoff meetings with the Clippers, but has come up on the losing end both times.
