Former LA Clippers star Blake Griffin still has love from his Boston Celtics teammates

Former LA Clippers star Blake Griffin spent last season with the Boston Celtics, playing an important role off their bench as a versatile big man and team leader. While Griffin is of course no longer the star player he once was, his contributions to Boston last year were significant both on and off the court.

During a recent episode of Pardon My Take, Celtics guards Payton Pritchard and Derrick White revealed that they have been begging Griffin to rejoin the team:

Currently a free agent, Griffin has been living in Los Angeles with his family, which is the priority for him right now. When asked about this, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said Griffin told him at the end of last season that his family was the number one priority for him, which is why he decided not to re-sign with Boston.

It doesn't seem that Griffin has entirely ruled out an NBA comeback, but for now he is prioritizing his family and his kids over another shot at winning a championship. The Celtics would love to have Griffin back, and while it technically still remains a possibility, it seems unlikely that Griffin plans to make an NBA return this season.

Having this much support from his former teammates shows the type of player and person that Griffin is, and he has a spot in Boston if he wants it.
