When the LA Clippers were first eliminated by the Phoenix Suns, President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank said the team hoped to re-sign Russell Westbrook. Different point guard options have come and gone since then, but Frank reiterated on Thursday night that the Clippers still very much hope to re-sign Westbrook.

"Very much so," Frank said when asked if the Clippers still hope to re-sign Westbrook. "Now, Russ is a free agent and he gets to choose. He did a phenomenal job during his time with the Clippers. He's obviously had a Hall of Fame career, one of the top-75 of all-time. We want Russ back, but also respect the fact that he's a free agent and has a right to choose, but hopefully we can keep him a Clipper."

The Clippers have been linked to several point guards already this offseason, many of which have landed elsewhere, but it seems their primary option at that position is still Westbrook. While the Clippers are limited in what they can offer him, so is almost every other contender, which could strengthen their ability to retain him.

Westbrook was fantastic during his time with the Clippers, emerging as a team leader both on and off the court. Unable to find what he provides anywhere else, the Clippers are hopeful they can bring Westbrook back this summer.
