Clippers Give Massive Injury Update on Kawhi Leonard
One of the biggest question marks entering this season for the LA Clippers was the health of Kawhi Leonard. The 2022-23 season was supposed to be one where a fully healthy Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers to a championship run, but instead, he was unhealthy for a huge portion of the regular season and missed the playoffs due to a torn meniscus. Fortunately, there's some good news now.
According to Lawrence Frank, President of Basketball Operations for the LA Clippers, Kawhi Leonard will be one hundred percent heading into training camp. Frank also gave an update on how Leonard's procedure for his torn meniscus went.
"He had a clean-up procedure done beginning of June, right around June 6, just to clean up," Frank said. "Went terrific. Very, very quick procedure. He'll be -- he feels great. Talked to him and he feels great. It's an eight-week recovery from the time of surgery where you're back on the court playing, like if it was a game. But yeah, so we're very fortunate that it was just a quick little thing."
The LA Clippers will only go as far as Kawhi Leonard's health will take them. LA looked like it had a decent shot to defeat the Phoenix Suns with just Kawhi Leonard, but all of that hope was gone the moment he became injured. Hopefully, the basketball gods will have better luck for the next season.
