After a vague update from LA Clippers president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank, fans were left uncertain about whether or not star forward Kawhi Leonard would be forced to miss additional time beyond his Game 3 injury absence. That answer has finally come, as the Clippers have officially ruled Leonard out for Game 4.

Speaking about Leonard's injury before Game 3, Frank told reporters, "He had it at the end of Game 1. It's the playoffs, so he wanted to fight through it. Obviously was able to play through Game 2. Symptoms got worse after Game 2, and we ruled him out for [Game 3]."

Frank said on Thursday that the Clippers would be taking it day by day with Leonard, and they have now ruled him out for Game 4. With Frank mentioning that Leonard initially injured his knee in Game 1, a follow-up question was asked about why the star forward played in Game 2.

"If we weren't comfortable with him playing [Game 2], he wouldn't have," Frank said. "But like I said after the game, things didn't get better, they got worse. So we ruled him out for [Game 3]. Just kind of take it day by day. In these type of injuries, you feel so bad for him... Everything he's put into his craft, literally the playoffs, these are the moments he lives for. You feel horrible for Kawhi that he's out for tonight. We'll take it day by day."

With those symptoms already forcing Leonard to miss Game 3, they will hold him out for Game 4 as well.
