Clippers fans were hoping Kawhi Leonard could return to the Clippers lineup and give the team a much-needed boost against the Phoenix Suns, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen at all.

Bleacher Report's Chris Haynes reported some very unfortunate news about Leonard, revealing that there is significant swelling in Leonard's knee that caused him to be out in Game 3. The swelling started after Game 2, and there's still some swelling in the knee today. On top of that, Haynes revealed that Leonard isn't missing games because of a pain tolerance situation and that things don't look good for a Kawhi Leonard return.

Haynes' report is concerning for multiple reasons. Kawhi Leonard already had a knee swelling issue to start the season that caused him to miss 12 games, and it could possibly be the same issue. There's so much health history with Kawhi Leonard's knee, ranging from swelling, to a degenerative knee disorder, to an ACL tear. Will too much pressure on his knee continue to make it swell moving forward? The fact that Leonard's injury is on the same knee as his ACL tear is also very concerning.

It's safe to say that Clipper fans shouldn't be expecting Kawhi Leonard to return to the basketball court anytime soon, and the team is already down 3-1 against a stacked Phoenix Suns. It was supposed to be the year for the LA Clippers, but it's been anything but that.
