The Milwaukee Bucks are not off to a good start under new head coach Doc Rivers. Having already given several reasons why this is the case, Rivers has reiterated how difficult it is to take over a team midseason, and especially at this point of the season.

Former LA Clippers guard JJ Redick, who played under Rivers, saw this as more excuses from the new Bucks coach. Calling Rivers out during a segment of ESPN's First Take, Redick said, "I've seen the trend for years. The trend is always making excuses. Doc, we get it. Taking over a team in the middle of a season is hard... But it's always an excuse. It's always throwing your team under the bus... There's never accountability with that guy."

Redick received a response to these comments from Patrick Beverley, another former Clippers player under Rivers, who is now playing for him again with the Bucks. In his response, Beverley called out Redick, saying Rivers saved his career:

Redick fired back at this response from Beverley, saying he had a four-year offer on the table from another team to also start for them, making Beverley's comment inaccurate:

This was quite the back and forth between two former Clippers players who played under Rivers, but never together. Beverley joined the Clippers in 2017, which is when Redick went to Philadelphia.
