The Milwaukee Bucks are hiring Doc Rivers to be their next head coach after firing Adrian Griffin. The decision has been a controversial one, as Rivers is a very polarizing coach. While Rivers is an NBA champion, and one of the winningest coaches in NBA history, he also has a history of playoff collapses that led to his departure from multiple franchises.

During a recent interview with Cyro Asseo de Choch of HoopsHype (which came prior the official confirmation that Rivers would become the next Bucks head coach), former LA Clippers center Marcin Gortat got brutally honest about his thoughts on Rivers as a coach.

"I didn’t have the best time with Doc Rivers, unfortunately. He’s a good dude and great to talk to with incredible stories and a rich history in the NBA. However, I wouldn’t trust his coaching decisions. I just don’t have confidence in them," Gortat said.

Gortat played under Rivers with the Clippers in 2018, but was waived by the team midway through that season and never found another spot in the NBA. According to the former starter, Rivers is a great person, but Gortat does not trust his coaching decisions.

This situation in Milwaukee will be a very interesting one to follow, as the Bucks clearly feel that Rivers is the right person to get them to that next level.
