During a recent episode of Gil's Arenas, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas slammed the Los Angeles Lakers for their treatment of now LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook, saying it was unfair since he was the only player consistently available.

"The hatred that the Lakers gave [Westbrook] was unwarranted, because he's the only one that was actually playing," Arenas said. "If we started the season off and said, alright LeBron is only gonna play 30-something games, AD is gonna play about 30-something games, we would've sat there and said they're gonna be sh-t... But the fact that they're not winning and [Westbrook] is the person that ya'll - who else ya'll gonna put the f-ck in?"

While Arenas exaggerated the lack of availability for both LeBron James and Anthony Davis, his point was still valid. In Westbrook's first season with the Lakers, James played just 56 games, and Davis played just 40 games. Westbrook played 78 games, which often left him out there without his two star teammates. Because of this, Arenas believes the hatred he received was unwarranted.

Always available, Westbrook's durability has been one of his strongest attributes throughout his career. That did not change with the Lakers, as he was always available for a team that often struggled to keep their best players on the court. Still heavily criticized despite this, Westbrook has the support of Gilbert Arenas.
