After being traded to the Utah Jazz from the Toronto Raptors, NBA champion Otto Porter Jr. could seek a buyout in order to sign with a contender. A key piece to the Golden State Warriors' 2022 championship, Porter has been unable to remain healthy since then, but could really help a lot of teams if he can stay on the floor.

In a recent article, Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley predicted that Porter will land with the LA Clippers if he reaches a buyout with Utah. This prediction is of course based on the circumstances as opposed to sourced reporting, but the fit could make sense.

The Clippers do not currently have an available roster spot, so any buyout addition would have to come after the release of somebody currently on the roster. That certainly complicates things, and may not be something the team chooses to do.

Porter's $6.3M salary this season is below the $12,405,000 non-taxpayer mid-level exception, which makes him eligible to sign with teams like the Clippers - even under the CBA's new rule that prohibits teams above the first luxury tax apron from signing buyout players making more than that number.

None of this matters unless Porter is bought out, which has not yet happened, but the veteran forward would be among the top free agents if he were to become available.
