James Harden Makes History During Clippers vs Hawks
The LA Clippers were absolutely dismantled by a shorthanded Atlanta Hawks on Sunday night, but one could argue that the only silver lining was that James Harden made some good history in the process.
On Sunday night, James Harden surpassed Vince Carter for 20th place on the NBA's all-time points list.
Harden struggled for much of the night against the Atlanta Hawks, shooting 3/10 from the field. He ultimately put up 9 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block in the game. If not for the low shooting percentage, it would have been a decent stat line for Harden, but the Clippers needed more for him.
Sunday night's game for the Clippers was arguably the worst loss of the season. The team was down by as many as 29 points at home to an Atlanta Hawks team without Trae Young and a plethora of other players. In fact, the Hawks had more assists than the Clippers had made baskets.
The Clippers had nearly everything could have wanted on Sunday night. They avoided an early start time, they got James Harden back, and they faced a losing team without its best player. Somehow, none of it mattered and LA put on one of its worst performances of the season.
A few weeks ago, the LA Clippers were hoping to get the 1st seed, now, they're only one game ahead of the 5th seed. Something has to change.
