One of the biggest pieces of leverage the LA Clippers have in the James Harden trade saga, is his previously displayed willingness to make life difficult for a team he no longer wants to be on. This has been reported on extensively, but it's also been seen publicly as well.

Because this is how Harden has operated in the past, fans have been speculating what the Philadelphia 76ers star could be suggesting with his latest cryptic post on Instagram:

In a report on Wednesday, prior to this post from Harden, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports wrote the following:

"If this saga does drag out through September and until media day on Oct. 2, Harden is expected at this point to report to training camp, according to league sources. You can cause far more headaches for the organization you’re trying to leave by showing up, as opposed to staying home. With both the Rockets and Nets, Harden made various trips away from the team for various nightlife activities. He made Brooklyn feel it had no other option but to trade him to the Sixers before the 2022 trade deadline, or risk losing him for nothing. With Philadelphia, Harden’s side is very much of the belief joining the Clippers is not a matter of if, but when."

Could Harden's instagram post be entirely unrelated to his trade request? Certainly. That said, it makes sense why fans are speculating he could be hinting at the beginning of another messy departure.
