Joel Embiid's Injury Status for Clippers vs. 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon to face the LA Clippers, but they will remain without their star center Joel Embiid. While Embiid is working towards a return from his meniscus injury, that return will not come in this game, meaning the reigning league MVP will not face off with his former teammate James Harden.
Harden was of course traded from the 76ers to the Clippers earlier this season, and will be facing his former team for the first time on Sunday. Philadelphia is trying to climb back into the Eastern Conference playoff picture, as they are currently in the play-in tournament. For the Clippers, they are trying to maintain their hold on the fourth seed, which of course gives them home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Every game is important for both Philadelphia and LA between now and the end of the regular season, and this one is no exception.
While Embiid is not available, Philadelphia has several other key players who have proven the ability to step up with increased opportunities. These two teams will face off again later this week, but that game will come in Philadelphia.
This afternoon meeting will begin at 12:30 PM PT in Los Angeles.
