Kawhi Leonard Reacts to Playing in NBA All-Star Game
While the NBA All-Star game was an absolute disappointment to fans, the players seemed to have fun bonding on the court with each other - even someone as stoic as Kawhi Leonard.
After the game, Kawhi Leonard was asked about his experience in the 2024 NBA All-Star game, and he gave the most Kawhi answer possible.
"It was great," Kawhi Leonard said. "Indiana fans came out, showed a lot of love. Cold, very cold city, but it was a great time."
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George actually played the least amount of minutes out of anyone in the All-Star game. Leonard only played 10:12, and George only played 9:57. In the 10 minutes that Leonard played, he put up 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist on 2/4 shooting. It seemed very clear that Leonard wasn't trying to exert himself after suffering an adductor injury right before the All-Star game.
For Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the All-Star game probably was less about playing, and more about just the weekend experience of being with their peers and friends. Both players were battling nagging injuries throughout the month of February before the All-Star game, and treating that was likely the main priority for both of the All-Stars.
Kawhi Leonard has already been an NBA All-Star Game MVP in 2020. He's had his moments to shine, and it was clear this year wasn't that moment.
