The LA Clippers pulled out a gritty win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday afternoon, winning a low-scoring 89-88 game. It was a huge win for LA, who gets on the board in the season series vs. Minnesota.

As the final score indicates, nothing came easily offensively for the Clippers, and especially for Paul George and James Harden. While George had some big shots in the fourth quarter, he finished 5/16 from the field, while Harden finished 0/10.

Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell carried the load offensively for the Clippers, with the two 2019 NBA champions combining for 56 of LA's 89 points, 21 of their 32 baskets, and 7 of their 10 threes.

When asked after the game about stepping up amid the struggles of his two star teammates, Leonard downplayed the idea that he did so intentionally, saying, "At times I might be the one struggling, or them. But I just try to play the same game and not try to hone in on just me, because it can turn into hero basketball. We’ve been harping on trying to move the ball. Especially on good teams like this."

Wanting to play the right way regardless of how his teammates are performing, Leonard trusted the process, and it led to a one-point Clippers victory. LA is now just two games back of first place in the Western Conference.
