LA Clippers Announce Roster Move
The LA Clippers announced on Monday afternoon that they had signed Jordan Miller to a two-way contract. Miller was selected 48th by the Clippers in the 2023 NBA Draft, and played in five Summer League games with them, averaging 6.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 2.8 APG in 25.9 minutes per contest.
Miller will occupy LA's second two-way slot, with the first being given to Moussa Diabate earlier this offseason. This leaves the Clippers with one more two-way slot open, as the league now allows for three such deals per team.
While the Clippers would prefer to have their two-way players get consistent reps in the G-League, opportunities at the NBA level can present themselves. This has been seen in previous seasons, most recently with Moussa Diabate, who had a few opportunities to play key minutes for the Clippers last season while on a two-way contract.
Having already assembled a more complete roster than the one they entered last season with, the Clippers should not need to rely on any of their two-way players for real minutes next season unless injuries occur. That said, this is also a team that has dealt with injuries over the last several seasons, which again could create opportunities for players who may not have been expecting one.
If things go as planned, Jordan Miller should have a chance to get extended reps with the Ontario Clippers, which is what the organization would like to see.
