Clippers Sharpshooter Landry Shamet Nearly Finished with Quarantine

LA Clippers guard Landry Shamet posted an update about his health on Instagram, saying he's nearly finished with his 14-day quarantine.

After reportedly testing positive for the coronavirus on July 4, LA Clippers sharpshooter Landry Shamet is almost finished with his 14-day quarantine.

The 23-year-old guard shared an image of himself on Instagram on Saturday night, along with a caption that reads, "Quarantine almost over," followed by two hourglass emojis.

Initially, there was some fear among fans that Shamet wouldn't be joining the team in Orlando due to his positive test, but this seems to indicate that he'll make the trip down soon after he clears quarantine.

Given the timing of the situation and the fact that Shamet must remain in his room for 48 hours once he arrives on campus, he probably won't play in Wednesday's scrimmage with the Orlando Magic. That said, Shamet could certainly make his debut on Saturday in LA's second scrimmage game against the Washington Wizards.

At the very least, Shamet should be available for the Clippers' first seeding game, a meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on July 30.

Even though it's just his second year in the league, Shamet is a key contributor for LA. He's appeared in 47 games and made 27 starts this season, posting averages of 9.7 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 27.5 minutes per game.

Shamet is also one of the league's most consistent three-point shooters. The Wichita State product is making nearly 40% of his 5.7 attempts per game this year, both of which rank second on the team behind Paul George.

As it stands, Shamet is one of three players that have yet to join the Clippers in Orlando, along with Ivica Zubac and Marcus Morris. It's unknown if and when they will arrive on campus.
