LA Clippers Star Gives New Details on Injury
Throughout the season, Paul George has been dealing with an ailing knee injury. Both before the All-Star break and after the break, George's knee flared up. Most recently, it was diagnosed as meniscus irritation.
After finally returning, Paul George opened up about the struggles he's been dealing with.
"I just needed some time off," George said. "It was a rough stretch going into the break and coming out of the break."
George additionally revealed that the injury is one he's been dealing with all season. He's been playing through it, but felt like it suddenly hit a wall recently. That's when he decided that he needed a breather. It seems very clear that George hasn't quite played like himself since the injury and he hasn't been able to average 25 points a game like he was at the start of the year.
Month by month, here are Paul George's splits. In October, he averaged 27.3 points on 53/47/96 shooting, November was 22.3 points on 42/35/91 shooting, December was 22.0 points on 46/44/93 shooting, January was 23.4 points on 49/44/87 shooting, and February was 17.9 points on 41/30/88 shooting.
Paul George's shooting splits tell a story within itself on how you can see his knee broke down and flared up. Hopefully, his March numbers are much closer to how his January looked.
