The Los Angeles Lakers are interested in this former LA Clippers player

With the LA Clippers waiving veteran guard Eric Gordon, it was reported by Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports that the Los Angeles Lakers have interest in signing him. Gordon was acquired by the Clippers from the Houston Rockets at last season's trade deadline, and was waived after just 22 regular season games.

While Gordon played his role well for the Clippers, he did not fit in their plans going forward, and would have costed a lot of luxury tax money to retain. The Lakers have the MLE to work with, and could offer part of it to Gordon if they are indeed interested in acquiring him.

Even at his age, Gordon would be a nice fit next to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as his spacing and downhill pressure should compliment them well. There will likely be other teams interested in Gordon, especially those with the MLE to work with.

Having spent so many years in Houston, Gordon was a key piece to those Rockets teams that went deep in the playoffs, and was then their lone veteran throughout this current rebuild. Likely hoping to compete for a championship at this point in his career, a move to the Lakers could make sense for Gordon, who of course spent the last part of this past season in Los Angeles with the Clippers.
