Lakers Player Shares Hilarious Story About Facing Clippers

D'Angelo Russell shared a classic Patrick Beverley story.

When Patrick Beverley was on the Clippers he was an absolute menace. He would terrorize opposing guards like Chris Paul or Damian Lillard, but especially younger guards like D'Angelo Russell.

Russell was a guest on the Pat Bev Podcast where he shared a hilarious story about Patrick Beverley hounding him during his younger years on the Lakers.

"I remember when they used to bring like a rookie or a second year player up to test the ball or talk to the refs, take pictures and stuff before the game," Russell said. "You know this one Pat, we pull up it's when you were on the Clippers. You and Lou at the circle, I come up there and say what's up to Lou. Pat, he behind Lou just like on some savage, just like standing there and mugging me like this. So, I'm feeling all that, like 'bro what the heck is this?' I'm thinking I'm about to say what's up, talk to the refs for a second. Pat is just giving me this energy that it's just like, 'I'm coming for you this game, none of that running, none of that ducking.' I don't remember what happened that game, but I just remember thinking about that the whole time to the tip."

Stunned by Beverley's actions, Russell started asking Lou Williams why Beverley was hounding him. Lou let D'Angelo know that everything Patrick Beverley does is all out of love, and how he stays motivated as an older player. As a result, D'Angelo Russell found himself getting even more motivated, and now he and Patrick Beverley have been both teammates and friends.
