The LA Clippers are hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, and Lakers star LeBron James is being listed as questionable with left ankle peroneal tendinopathy.

Unless the Clippers and Lakers meet in the playoffs, this will be their final hallway series game ever. This is the last game between the Clippers and Lakers this season, and with the Clippers moving to their new arena next season, it will be the final time these two teams play a Clippers home game in this building.

With their head-to-head dominance over the Lakers for more than a decade, the Clippers have won the overall hallway series, making up some serious ground the last 13 years. This is of course insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but is interesting nonetheless.

This matchup is more important for both teams than any head-to-head record is, as both the Clippers and Lakers are looking to optimize their seeding in the Western Conference. For the Clippers, they will enter this game as the 4th seed, while the Lakers will enter it as the 10th seed.

It’s unlikely that the Lakers will fall out of the play in-picture entirely, as the top-10 seems to be mostly set at this point, but they would certainly love to move up from where they’re at right now. As for the Clippers, they would also like to move higher than where they're at, and still have the opportunity to do so.
