Major Damian Lillard to the Clippers Trade Idea

While much of the trade noise surrounding the LA Clippers has been about James Harden, multiple reports have indicated they are also one of the teams interested in Damian Lillard. In a recent article, Kurt Helin of NBC Sports broke down a potential package the Clippers could send out for Lillard.
As Helin noted, the Clippers likely would not have a good enough package for a two-team deal with just them and the Portland Trail Blazers, but any deal would certainly have to start with Terance Mann. Highly valued by the Clippers, Mann would certainly be a must in any trade for a player of Lillard's caliber. After that, a combination of expiring deals for salary purposes would need to be included.
While Mann has a lot of value around the league, the Clippers do not have much outside of him that Portland would be interested in. As Helin added, this would likely make a two-team deal especially tough for them, because unless they were able to blow away whatever the Miami Heat were offering, Portland would likely send Lillard to his preferred destination.
Helin made it clear in his analysis that the Clippers would need to find a way to offer a package substantially better than Miami's to even have a chance, which doesn't even seem possible with their current collection of assets. While they're reported to have interest, the Clippers feel like a long shot to acquire Lillard.
