Major Paul George to Warriors Trade Idea
It was reported earlier this summer that the LA Clippers were gauging the trade market for Paul George. While these reports did not indicate the Clippers were actively shopping George, it was reported several different places that they were listening to offers.
While these reports were circulating, Clippers President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank continued to make it clear that the team's intention was to build around both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George this summer. Since those comments, the team has re-signed Russell Westbrook, and shown interest in trading for James Harden - two strong indicators they don't intend to move George.
Even with everything pointing towards the Clippers keeping George this summer, a recent article from Bleacher Report suggested a hypothetical trade that lands the star forward with the Golden State Warriors. The hypothetical trade proposal looked like this:
Warriors get: Paul George
Clippers get: Chris Paul, Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody and top-10 protected first-round picks in 2026 and 2028.
There is a lot to break down here, because not only does this hypothetical deal send George to Golden State, but it also sends Chris Paul back to the Clippers. From everything that's been made public this offseason, it seems neither team would have interest in this deal. The Clippers seem to be keeping George, and the Warriors have already made it clear that Paul is firmly in their plans for this upcoming season.
