If there's one person who truly understands the game of basketball, it's NBA Hall of Famer and The Logo, Jerry West. West is credited for helping the Lakers acquire Kobe Bryant, helping the Warriors become what they are, and rebuilding the Memphis Grizzlies. West was asked about his thoughts on Victor Wembanyama, and he gave a very positive assessment.

Jerry West was a guest on Sirius XM NBA radio where he gave a full assessment on the new rookie.

"You rarely see someone that combines his brain and his ability," West said. "Just watching him play, it's an easy game for him to play, very easy. Never looks like he's really working, and if you watch really great players, they don't look like they're working hard. They're always in the right place at the right time."

When it came to a specific quality to analyze, West really highlighted Wembanyama's defense. Jerry West believes Wembanyama's defense will truly be a problem in the NBA.

'I think when he comes into the league, if you watch him defensively, he ruins games," West said. "He reminds me a little bit of a bigger Bill Russell, with a big reach, coming from everywhere,  blindsides. Every offensive player is going to have to be really cautious about where he is, because he's going to mess up some offenses, that's for sure."

Victor Wembanyama struggled in his first NBA Summer League game, and it was very clear he was nervous. The good news is, that means absolutely nothing in terms of an NBA career.
