This off-season, James Harden shocked the NBA world when he demanded a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers. It wasn't just Philadelphia 76ers fans he shocked, it was also NBA legends like Tracy McGrady.

McGrady was interviewed by Howard Beck of GQ Sports where he pulled no punches about Harden's trade request.

"That makes zero sense to me," McGrady said to Beck. "Not only that, but I look at all the teammates he's played with. James has probably played with more Hall of Famers than anybody in the league, and he doesn't have a ring to show for it. I don't know what he's looking for. And maybe there's some internal bullshit that is going on that we don't know about. Because it doesn't make any sense to me to leave the MVP, and the Eastern Conference, where you have a shot to at least play for a championship. It's got to be something deeper than what you know. Get over it, man."

When it comes to "internal bullshit", James Harden feels very slighted by the Philadelphia 76ers because he took a pay cut last season and the 76ers responded by keeping him in the dark this off-season. Regardless, it is very bizarre for the star player to leave playing with the reigning MVP and arguably the greatest player he's ever played with.

Still, James Harden is a different type of NBA player, one that will have played on four different teams in four different seasons. For that reason alone, it makes a plethora of sense for the Clippers to take their time on a potential trade.
