With the 8th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, the LA Clippers selected Al-Farouq Aminu. Two picks later, the Indiana Pacers drafted Paul George. During a recent episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, George got honest about the extra edge he had when playing the Clippers after that draft.

"[I'm] drafted 10th, Clippers had the 8th pick - I had a hell of a workout for the Clippers, they ended up picking Al-Farouq Aminu at the time. So it was smoke from that point on, every time I played the Clippers."

Life of course came full-circle for George, as he is now an All-Star with the Clippers, but that was certainly a big miss by them in the draft. Having selected Blake Griffin first-overall the year prior, LA could have paired him with George to make one of the NBA's most exciting young duos.

It's of course possible that George would have ended up in the Chris Paul trade, like Aminu was, but it's still fun to imagine what a duo of he and Griffin would have been like. Two high-flying athletic forwards, Griffin and George would have been incredibly fun to watch as a duo, even if it were just for their rookie seasons.

For the Clippers, they eventually got George nearly a decade later, pairing him with Kawhi Leonard in 2019.
