Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has been putting people on notice this summer. Already a rising star in the NBA, Edwards has been dominating FIBA World Cup play. One of the best players on a very talented Team USA roster, Edwards has been showing why so many people believe he is one of the future faces of the NBA.

During a recent episode of Podcast P, which is presented by Wave Sports and Entertainment, LA Clippers star Paul George spoke extensively on Edwards, and made the strong statement that he is the future of the NBA.

"It's pretty special with who he is becoming," George said of Edwards. "At that age, at this stage, you're putting him amongst the young stars he's gonna be competing with for the next 10-15 years, and now he's becoming the Alpha of them... That's a special kid, man. He's the future."

It’s hard to argue with what George sees in Edwards, and while some may debate which young stars are indeed the NBA’s future, the league is undoubtedly in a good place.

George is one of the NBA players who often pushes back against the comparison culture in sports, so it’s important to mention that when talking about Edwards, he certainly isn’t discrediting any of the other incredible young stars that will be part of the NBA’s future.
