Paul George Gets Honest About Clippers' Struggles After Harden Trade
The LA Clippers have been a rollercoaster since trading for James Harden. At first, they lost six straight games, then they won four of the next five games, then they had one of their worst losses in modern franchise history against the Denver Nuggets.
On an episode of Podcast P, Paul George opened up about the six-game losing streak and all the frustrations the Clippers experienced during the process.
“Speaking for myself, I was obviously frustrated, losing six straight games, and especially with the talent and the guys we have in the locker room," George said. "As much as we’re positive, optimistic, and truly believe that it will work, still no one likes losing, no one likes being out there, competing, giving everything you can, and coming up with a loss. So that part gets to you but the beauty in this team, honestly is we’re enjoying this process. I think that’s what separates us and why we’re not boiling over and shaking up the locker room. We honestly are enjoying trying to figure this out because we understand and realize the big picture of what this will be if all four of us can pull this off and bring this together and do something special.”
While George may say that the team is positive and optimistic, there are certain moments where it looks like anything but that. One would have thought they had all the optimism in the world when facing the Nuggets, but the Clippers looked like a very frustrated and defeated team.
Without Patrick Beverley, Nicolas Batum, and so many other culture-setters, the Clippers don't have much of a voice outside of Russell Westbrook - who is probably frustrated himself needing to come off the bench. The Clippers have been doing well recently, but they still don't look like they're having the fun that they had to start the season. Fortunately, it's a long season.
