In a recent report from NBA insider Marc Stein, it was revealed through sources that the LA Clippers are attempting to gauge Paul George's trade value, and are considering the idea of breaking up the duo of he and Kawhi Leonard.

"League sources tell The Stein Line that the LA Clippers have left various rival teams with the impression through their Draft Week conversations that they are, at a minimum, attempting to gauge Paul George's trade value and, to hear some describe it, giving real consideration to the idea of disassembling the Kawhi Leonard/George tandem," Stein wrote.

This report comes as a bit of a surprise, because the Clippers have publicly expressed their desire to continue building around Leonard and George this summer. That said, this is the same organization who dealt Blake Griffin when nobody saw it coming, so there is really no way to be certain what their true plans are.

While the Clippers gauging trade interest around the league for George does not necessarily mean they intend to deal him, it does indicate some level of openness to the possibility of splitting him and Leonard, like Stein noted. The NBA Draft is on Thursday, and it feels reasonable to assume that any potential George deal would involve a high-level pick.

Needless to say, this is a story to follow.
