There have been so many debates about which NBA team is the greatest ever. The Kevin Durant and Steph Curry Golden State Warriors are in the discussion, as are the Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippin Chicago Bulls; however, LA Clippers head coach Ty Lue believes the 2001 Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal Los Angeles Lakers are the best.

Recently appearing on All The Smoke, Lue spoke on this team, saying, "All time, yeah. The greatest of all time for sure. Nobody could beat that team."

Lue was of course a member of that Lakers team, appearing in 15 games off the bench that postseason. Having a front row seat to the dominance of Kobe and Shaq every night, Lue believes that tandem - and that team overall, is the best ever. While this might be a hot take when placed up against the 2017 Warriors and 1996 Bulls, it's certainly not an outlandish take, because that 2001 Lakers team was an absolute force.

Winning their second of three-straight titles in 2001, the Lakers reignited their dynasty after just over a decade without a championship. While this is a small drought for almost every other NBA franchise, the Lakers won five titles between 1980 and 1988 before winning again in 2000. Being a part of that three-peat, Lue believes those Lakers teams cannot be rivaled by anybody.
