The LA Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans are set to face off in a crucial Western Conference battle on Friday night. Just three games separate the two teams in the Western Conference standings, with the Clippers currently sitting in 4th, and the Pelicans currently sitting in 5th.

A win by the Clippers would create four games of separation between the two teams, making it very unlikely that the Pelicans could catch them in the standings. That said, if New Orleans wins this game, they not only cut the gap to two games, but they also win the season series over the Clippers.

Both teams have released their injury reports for this game, and Pelicans star Zion Williamson is not listed, meaning he is available to play. Williamson has played in 54 of the 65 games that the Pelicans have played this season, which is much better than in previous years.

If Williamson plays eight more games this season, he will set a career high for games played, surpassing the 61 games he played in the 2021 season. After playing just 29 games last season, Williamson has nearly doubled that this season, which has certainly contributed to where the Pelicans sit in the standings.

This game is the second night of a back-to-back for the Clippers, but neither Kawhi Leonard or Paul George are listed on the injury report, which is great news.
