Draft Summary

While the two prospects that Atlanta ended up with in the 2023 NBA Draft are both good picks, the fit early on is interesting. With a backcourt that already contains Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, the fit with Bufkin isn't perfect. While there's always a chance the Hawks make a move this summer that opens things up, a team wanting to win now selecting a position that's already strong wasn't expected.

From there, Lundy was a good selection in the second-round with his shooting upside. However, he's another definitely a prospect that may struggle to find consistent playing time early in his career. With that in mind, shooting is one of the most important skills in the modern NBA, and Lundy can fill it up from beyond the arc. It wasn't a bad draft for Atlanta, but the immediate fits of their two prospects aren't perfect.
