If you were told of a highly-athletic 19-year-old who helped anchor the G League Ignite this year, you’d likely think of dynamo and projected second overall pick Scoot Henderson. But he’s not the only NBA Draft prospect who had a massive impact for the Ignite this season.

Leonard Miller, at 6-foot-10, offers teams an intriguing blend of size, skill and production. Even those in the 2023 lottery. He lacks traditional interior scoring and defense, but makes up for it with his fluidity and guard-esque traits.

Miller averaged 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.8 blocks per game in his sole G League season, shooting shooting 56 percent overall, 33 percent from three and 79 percent from the line.

As a scorer, he has a bit of a hodgepodge scoring package, but is learning on the fly and offers niche buckets in the ways of cutting, slashing and transition scoring, with the occasional 3-pointer.

Defensively, Miller had a bit of an up-and-down reputation prior to his G League season. But mades strides both on and off-ball giving great effort and utilizing his combination of size and quickness.

Perhaps most importantly, Miller showed massive growth and willingness to learn and work through issues in a situation that likely wasn’t easy, especially after testing the 2022 Draft waters.

Miller is a bit of an unconventional selection. But one that could offer tremendous upside in a league that’s trending more towards unconventionality with each passing day.
