2023 NBA Draft Lottery: Houston Rockets Land No. 4 Overall Pick

During Tuesday’ NBA Draft Lottery, the Houston Rockets found out what pick they will have in 2023 NBA Draft.

On Tuesday evening, NBA franchises encountered a momentous occasion with the potential to significantly impact their future. The top 14 picks of the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft, scheduled for June 22, were solidified at the draft lottery.

During an exciting event, the NBA unveiled the fortunate recipient of the coveted No. 1 overall pick and Victor Wembanyama, along with the remaining lottery positions.

The Houston Rockets had the second best odds entering the night, but ultimately landed the No. 4 overall pick. While this was a two-spot fall for Houston, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. The Rockets had the potential to fall to No. 6 overall. Even then, this slot could be a tough pill for Houston fans to swallow. The idea of potentially landing Wembanyama is no longer a reality and the Rockets have now been one of the worst teams in the NBA for three-straight seasons without a top pick to show for it.

With the fourth pick, there will still be a ton of talent on the board. It feels that the most likely options at this spot will be Amen Thompson or Brandon Miller. Both provide very different things, but would be great on the rebuilding Rockets.

Between now and the 2023 NBA Draft, the Draft Digest team will be breaking down prospects that could be available in the Rockets' range.
