Who did the Orlando Magic select in the 2023 NBA Draft?

Entering the 2023 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic had one of the brightest futures in the league. With a core of young talent already on the roster, Orlando was given the opportunity to add two more lottery prospects on Thursday night. It was a great opportunity to take yet another step forward as the Magic looks to become a potential playoff team in the 2023-24 campaign. The big question was around whether or not Orlando would use both, or make a trade to shuffle around in the order.

Draft Summary

Coming into Thursday's event, it was expected that Orlando would potentially package its picks to move up. That wasn't necessary, as Anthony Black was clearly the Magic's guy and on the board with the No. 6 pick. From there, they took sharpshooter Jett Howard with their second lottery pick. 

The second was an interesting pick, especially since Gradey Dick was on the board. There's always a chance that Howard ends up being as good, if not better than him, but Dick would have been the perfect fit. Either way, you can't knock Orlando for getting two players that should make an impact almost immediately as rookies.
