There’s just over 24 hours until the 2023 NBA Draft, so the wait is almost over. Let's look at the biggest weakness for each of the projected top-five picks.

Victor Wembanyama | Metropolitans 92

The major question around Victor Wembanyama is the lack of strength and how good will his durability be in the NBA. At 7-foot-4 there are reasonable concerns on how healthy he can stay as players at that height have a pretty bad track record of being injury prone. Hopefully Wembanyama can have a healthy career and continue to fill out his frame which can be very hard for tall players.

Scoot Henderson | G League Ignite

Scoot Henderson does a lot of things at an elite level, but the 3-point jumper is not one of them. Henderson is a very inconsistent outside shooter as he barely shot over 30% on the season from three. The 6-foot-2 lead guard is a smooth pull-up shooter from the mid-range so if he can expand his range, it’ll make him a complete point guard prospect.

Brandon Miller | Alabama

Brandon Miller has shown some serious limitations as a finisher at the rim. In the half-court Miller shot under 40% at the rim which is incredibly low for a 6-foot-9 wing on one of the best floor spacing teams in college basketball. His lack of explosiveness and vertical pop are quite concerning which limits his ability to finish in traffic. Adding strength could help him finish a little more at the rim.

Amen Thompson | Overtime Elite

The obvious reg flag for Amen Thompson is the lackluster jumper. Thompson projects to do a lot of things at an elite level but he really struggles to shoot it off the dribble and catch. If there’s a scenario where the OTE lead guard has to play off the ball more than he’s accustomed to then that’ll really hurt the floor spacing with the team. He’s a bit ball dominant so he needs to end up in the right situation for him to work.

Cam Whitmore | Villanova

Cam Whitmore has major concerns around his limitations as a playmaker. His incredibly low assist rate is pretty concerning as he struggles to make advanced reads and the placement on some of his passes are quite inaccurate. When the Villanova wing attacks the rim, he can be very tunnel visioned which can occasionally put him in bad situations.
