The eight games on Friday marked the final contests of pool play before the schedule for the final three days of NBA Summer League was set. Each team came to Las Vegas with four games on the schedule, which meant every team had completed those four by the end of the day on Friday. From here, the top four squads will head to the playoffs while the other 26 will play one more contest before heading home.

Which three rookies were the top performers in yesterday’s slate of games?

Ausar Thompson (Detroit Pistons)

18 Points | 14 Rebounds | 2 Assists

One of the standouts of the entire summer, Thompson is already looking like a prospect with star potential. Especially in Detroit where he will have the opportunity to play big minutes almost immediately, it wouldn't be surprising to see him have one of the more productive rookie seasons of any. In Friday's contest specifically, he posted a very impressive double-double and impacted the game on both ends.

Hunter Tyson (Denver Nuggets)

31 Points | 4 Rebounds | 2 Assists

Denver will once again be competing for a title in the 2023-24 campaign and may have found another underrated rookie that can help along the way. Tyson has great positional size and shooting, which should translate at the NBA level. He poured in 31 points on Friday as he continues to look like a quality second-round selection.

Kobe Brown (LA Clippers)

35 Points | 8 Rebounds | 4 Steals

Entering the draft, many wondered if Brown's breakout final college season and the 3-point shooting that came with it was real. That appeared to be the case yesterday, as he knocked down seven of his ten attempts from beyond the arc. With an NBA ready frame and a high motor, Brown has a real chance at being a quality rotation player early in his career.
