In the second day of NBA Summer League action, we saw another handful of players step up and make a tremendous impact. While the final scores of these games don’t truly matter, each prospects’ ability to showcase their skills does. These opportunities will be over in less than two weeks, at which time the next chance to play again in an organized setting won’t be until the preseason. As such, performing at a high level now to ensure these players have a spot in training camp and beyond is critical.

Which three rookies were the top performers in yesterday’s slate of games?

Colin Castleton (Los Angeles Lakers)

18 Points | 8 Rebounds | 6 Assists

One of the most skilled bigs in this upcoming rookie class, Castleton went undrafted due to his age and because he was coming off of a season-ending injury. Regardless, he is the type of player that can impact the NBA game almost immediately. As he flirted with a triple-double in Wednesday’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs, he had one of the most well-rounded performances of any prospect so far this summer.

Keyonte George (Utah Jazz)

14 Points | 4 Assists | 3 Rebounds

As he continues to make his case as a lottery talent, George once again was a top performer in the second day of summer league. With his slimmed down frame, the speed and explosiveness he boasts is starting to become more prevalent than it was in college at Baylor. Both as a scorer and facilitator, George is shaping up to be a franchise cornerstone.

Kendric Davis (Golden State Warriors)

17 Points | 5 Rebounds | 4 Assists

After going undrafted, Davis has continued to prove just how explosive he is on both ends of the floor. Despite being undersized, he plays with a high motor and is extremely productive. In what’s been his best game of the summer thus far, he was a key piece in the Warriors getting a win over the Hornets, doing a little bit of everything while being efficient from the floor.
