NBA Draft 2024: Difficult Choice Looms for Bundesliga's Pacome Dadiet

Will Ratiopharm Ulm's Pacome Dadiet declare for the 2024 NBA Draft, or wait a year and test again in 2025?

In Germany's Bundesliga, Ratiopharm Ulm's Pacome Dadiet is beginning to garner attention as a possible early-to-mid second-round pick with room to climb even higher.

A wing prospect and one of the youngest players in the 2024 NBA Draft Class, Dadiet is an athletic, offensive-minded player that can hit shots off the bounce occasionally, but is more lethal off of the catch than anything.

While his numbers don't pop off the page at you, the size and play-style do. At 6-foot-7, 210 pounds, Dadiet has good size for a small forward, and is very fluid, flying around the court on cuts and finishing plays at the rim.

So far this year, he's averaging 6.4 points per game in 14.9 minutes. He shoots 45.2% from the field overall on 5.2 FGA per game, including 31.1% on three-point shot attempts.

Statistically, not a lot of reading in can be done due to limited sample size, but it's still important to note that Dadiet has shot 72% from the free-throw line this season, which lends itself to the belief that a true deep shot can develop.

While the shooting numbers obviously leave a bit to be desired, the mechanics are not bad. It's also important to remember that Pacome Dadiet is 18 right now, and will be on the night of the 2024 NBA Draft. As I said earlier, he's one of the youngest players in the entire class.

Not only is he still a teenager, but he's also playing against grown men, as do all of the G League, NBL, EuroLeague, etc. prospects. This has to be taken into account when comparing and contrasting numbers from a guy like Dadiet with any NCAA player.

While Dadiet could absolutely be drafted this year, it would not surprise me to see him wait and test the waters in the 2025 Draft instead.
